Margaret Ford joined the Pine Falls Golf Club as a teenager in 1941, but she wasn’t involved with competitive golf until she was 44 years old.

In the 17 year span from 1970 through 1986, she played on a total of 13 provincial women’s golf teams (four amateur and nine senior) and laid claim to three Manitoba senior women’s championship crowns.

She took her place among the province’s top female golfers be winning berths on the Manitoba amateur team in 1970, 1971, 1973 and 1974, then followed with berths on the provincial senior teams in seven consecutive years from 1976 through 1982 and added two more senior team appearances in 1984 and 1986.

In addition to her playing ability, she was also recognized for her work around the Pine Falls course to encourage and assist junior golfers to get involved with the sport.

She is still a member of the Pine Falls Golf Club, a relationship that has lasted more than 65 years from her teenage start in 1941.

She is an inductee into the Manitoba Golf Hall of Fame and Museum Inc., September 25, 2006.
